Term 1 2014

What an amazingly busy start to the year we have had.
It is already getting close to the end of Term 1.
We have celebrated Australia Day, Harmony Day and prepared for Earth Hour.

Now we are getting ready for Easter.

Earth Hour Display

Harmony Day.
Our school was alive with colour on Friday 21st March as we celebrated Harmony Day.
Many children wore traditional clothing, while others wore orange - a symbol of Harmony Day.
We shared many stories from the different cultures represented at our school.

Welcome back to our Library.
While the classes who "lived" in the Library during 2013 have moved to their fabulous, newly refurbished learning spaces, we are still waiting for the last few Library shelves to be returned, so that we can replace the rest of our books.

I decided to make a few changes as we moved the shelves and books back, so you will have to explore the new arrangement to find your favourite books again. I will put up lots of signs to help, but always come and ask if you need to.

When we do have the Library finally re-organised, I will make a treasure hunt as a bit of fun to help you find your way.

"Say G'day"
Here is a new version of the fun Aussie song made famous by Slim Dusty.
IGA has offered a free download for Australia Day.
It's a catchy tune that will have teachers and students singing along - and I challenge you to explain what some of our Aussie slang means! :-)
